Being in law school is competitive and extremely stressful. It is the major contributor to my anxiety because it is physically impossible to accomplish every task and the feeling of leaving a task undone gives me the sense of waiting on the proverbial “other shoe to drop.”

To help cope with the anxiety of school I find hobbies that can allow me to decompress such as, playing guitar, video games, or listening to YouTube videos on about topics I find interesting.

I would like friends and family to know that most, if not all people struggle mentally and being open about what weighs on you will allow you a sense of relief while possibly providing someone else with a little bit of perspective. I think the most common misconception is that people tend to dismiss individual’s mental health issues because they perceive that the person is doing okay or as acting normal.

I think this is the most common misconception because someone that does not have a mental illness or was able to conquer their own battle finds it hard to relate to someone who is still struggling.
